A First-Timer's Checklist Before Your Umrah

Najam Global Team June 2, 2026 5 min read

Performing Umrah for the first time can feel overwhelming, but a little preparation goes a long way. Start with your documents: a valid passport with at least six months' validity, your Umrah visa, vaccination certificates, and printed copies of your booking confirmation.

Pack light, comfortable clothing suited to the weather, and don't forget your ihram if you're travelling as a man. Comfortable walking shoes are essential — you'll be on your feet more than you expect between Tawaf, Sa'ee, and daily prayers.

Before you travel, it helps to review the steps of Umrah with your Mutawwif or group leader so you feel confident once you arrive. Our team provides an orientation session before every departure to walk pilgrims through each ritual.

Finally, keep your emergency contacts, hotel address, and group coordinator's number saved both on your phone and on paper, in case your phone runs out of battery in the crowds around the Haram.
